Sam Owoh, who joined Wake Tech Athletics as our new Women’s Soccer Coach on June 2011, brings a world of experience to his new position. Owoh attended NC State University, where as captain he led his team to numerous distinctions: First Team All ACC, First Team All Region, and First Team All South. He served as head coach of the men’s and women’s soccer teams at Enloe High School, bringing home multiple championships and regular season titles and earning Coach of the Year honors. Owoh has coached all of the Triangle’s major soccer leagues, including CASL, TFC, FVAA, and EWSA. He played indoor soccer professionally in Louisville, Kentucky and was a member of the Nigerian National Team and the African Cup of Nations.
Jay Burbee is the Head Men’s Soccer Coach for Wake Tech Community College. Coach Burbee holds a USSF National “B” license and brings 24 years of coaching experience to SOSA. Before moving to North Carolina, he was head coach for four years for the PA West Olympic Development Program, coached for SoccerPlus Academy under Tony DiCicco, and was an Operations Assistant for the Pittsburgh Riverhounds. He spent a year playing semi-professionally in Wilmington, NC; in college, he played for Hilbert College in NY and California University of PA. Coach Burbee has many former players who play or played at the NCAA Division I or II level, including one currently on the US Women’s U-20 National team.
Kenneth Enofe joins our league with 10 years coachinng experience. He has coached children as young as 3 through U17 players. In addition to his coaching experience, he has also served as a Team Trainer and was the Soccer Director for I9 Sports. Coach Enofe played professionally as an attacking midfielder for Insurance of Benin FC in Nigeria, as well as Cobh Ramblers FC in Ireland. He currently holds his USSF National D License.
